Food, Fun and Cardio

I have added a new "Weight Loss Story" page and updated the "About" page as well. Be sure to check 'em out!

I had an awesome time last night with the work crew (my Grand Rapids store that is). We went to a place downtown that I've been wanting to try for a while called Tavern on the Square. It was a fun atmosphere and the food was yummy. However, we were seated right below a giant heater and they just couldn't seem to get the temperature right. It was either freezing cold or roasting hot the entire night. Kind of irritating, but the good food made up for it ;)

I munched on some sweet potato chips while I was waiting for meal. Also, my boss, April, ordered some kind of mushroom bruschetta with goat cheese that she let me try. It was delicious!

For my entree, I ordered the troppa salad which consisted of pear, avocado, gorgonzola, and chopped walnuts (or maybe it was pecans? I can't remember) over a bed of greens with cherry vinaigrette. I was pretty hungry though and knew that wouldn't tie me over so I asked them to if they could throw some chicken on it.

It. was. awesome.

I also enjoyed this cucumber martini with my meal:

The first few sips were delicious, but then it just got way too sweet and I couldn't finish it. I offered it to other people at the table, but apparently no one was in the mood to drink a glass of pure sugar.

It was a night full of good times, good food, and good company.

--------------------------------------------------

Eric stayed home and did P90X with Aimee today, so I was on my own at the gym. However, I was instructed to do at least 40 minutes of good cardio, meaning not just sitting on the stationary bike for 40 minutes and reading a magazine the whole time. I started out with this treadmill workout that I got from Fitnessista:

Minutes 11-20 totally kicked my butt! Then I finished off my cardio session with 20 minutes on the Stairmaster. I may have had to face the gym without my trainer today, but I definately got my sweat on; my clothes were totally soaked when I was done!

Sorry, was that an overshare? Ha, like I care.

Came home and made a protein shake with about 5 oz of skim milk, 5 oz of almond milk, 1 scoop protein powder, and half a banana.

I downed that thing in a hurry and then ate the other half of the banana. Apparently I was hungry. Something different, right?

;)

Off to get things organized for school. Tomorrow is the last first day of class EVER! Man does time fly by.

Adios amigos!
