Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I'm a big fan of finding strange patterns in dates, and you can bet I am excited that today is one-one-one one. I'm a huge nerd.

My New Year's Eve was actually very uneventful, but I didn't mind. I went to dinner with my friend Gina, her boyfriend, and a bunch of their friends at Apache Trout Grill. It was fun and I had a fantastic dinner but I didn't really feel like going downtown after that. I was going to meet up with a couple other friends later in the night but while killing time at home before they were ready, I ended up getting extremely tired and dozing off. I woke up just in time for the ball drop and then I completely passed out! It's totally not like me to stay in for New Year's Eve, but I woke up this morning in my own bed feeling refreshed and ready to take on the new year :)

It was nice and sunny when I woke up so I decided that was definately a sign that I should go for a run! I busted into one of my birthday presents:

And had a yummy breakfast/pre-run snack of whole grain toast, sunflower butter, and half a banana:

Then I headed to the Civic Center and ran about 2 miles and then walked a little over a mile. It felt good to get moving!

I am a firm believer that a new year = a fresh start and I can't wait to see what 2011 has in store for me. Here are some things I am looking forward to:

I don't typically make New Year's resolutions, but here are some of my goals for 2011:
  • Reach my goal weight of 135lbs
  • Run my first 10K in May
  • Ride 500 miles on my bike
  • Get a boyfriend Meet some new people

Well, I'm off to hit the showers and then hit the mall. I'll be spending the afternoon looking for a new pair of jeans to wear with my new boots that I bought yesterday at Kohl's:

So cute :)

What are you looking forward to this year? What are your goals or resolutions?

  2. while we're at the arnold, we should totally do the pump and run. Not sure what it is EXACTLY, but I'm pretty sure it's a 5k that incorporates lifting.
