Camera Fail

I made the stupidest mistake that a blogger could make on Saturday at The Arnold: I left my memory card in my computer back at the hotel. Not only did I not realize this until we had already made the 20 minute drive, paid for parking, and walked almost a mile to the exhibit, but my good camera is currently being fixed and my crappy spare doesn't hold any pictures without a card. I wanted to cry.

I ended up going to a gift shop at the convention center and purchasing a disposable camera because for some stupid reason I thought that those would turn out better than my camera phone. Um, wrong. I picked up the photos last night from Walgreens and almost burst into tears when I found out that they all came out so dark that you couldn't even see them. I didn't get to meet Amanda Latona, but I did meet some of my other favorite athletes including Nicole Wilkins and Jennifer Nicole Lee and took pictures with both of them...but those pictures are gone. Blurry, dark, unidentifiable..gone.

I'm trying not to dwell on it and I've pretty much moved on. I still had an amazing time and I'm so glad I went. However, the crowds at the exhibit were so aweful that I'm not sure I'd want to go back..we'll see how I feel next year. Chances are I'll want to redeem myself after my epic camera fail and I'll end up going again :)

....................................

Eric and I got back yesterday afternoon motivated and ready to hit the gym (funny how going to a bodybuilding show does that to ya!). We both jumped on a treadmill and ran pushed ourselves to run 5Ks as fast as we could. Eric finished in 24:10 and I ran my fastest treadmill 5K ever: 3.1 miles in 29:37!! I was so pumped.

This morning, I wolfed down a bowl of peanut butter oatmeal and I decided to head outside for a short run since it was so sunny.

I ran a (hilly) 1.67 miles in 17:34, averaging a 10:30 pace. I'm ok with that.

Drove to the gym for a quick back and biceps lift with Eric afterwards and then came home and made lunch. My shelf in the fridge is pretty bare right now but I did find some pizza sauce so I threw together a whole wheat english muffin pizza.

Plus fruitage.

Why yes, I do really love oranges.

After lunch I packed and hit the road for home in Traverse City. I'm so excited to be spending the next couple of days with my parents, I haven't been home since Christmas!

Obligatory rest stop photo:

What, like you never take pictures of yourself in rest stop bathrooms.

After my photo shoot pit stop I quickly got back on the road, munched on a Clif Mojo bar, and I just arrived home about an hour ago. Another reason I love coming home?

This was waiting for me in my room. Have I mentioned that I have the coolest mom EVAR?!

Time to go enjoy being at home :)

Oh!!! I almost forgot. I finally signed up for Daily Mile. If you're signed up too let's be friends! Search for crazy person who begs for friends because she doesn't have any Krista Berg and add me :)

Have you ever forgot your camera at a really important or exciting event? What did you do?
