Sweat, Sushi and Saki

First off, I would just like to point out that this my 100th POST. I feel like I should celebrate or something. If I wasn't being such good little calorie counter, I'd go eat some cake.

I've been having the most relaxing weekend at home :)

Yesterday morning I went and got my snow tires taken off, even though apparently Michigan missed the memo that is now SPRING.

After that, I was originally planning on going for a run outside, but there's something about 20 degree weather that just makes me cringe at the thought of running. So instead of that, I headed to a local gym and the used the old "I'm gym shopping" excuse to get some free access to a treadmill ;)

In all honesty, I'm really glad that I didn't pay to use that gym because despite all of the brand new equipment, it wasn't all that impressive. It was super small and there was a limited number of cardio machines; but the worst part? No towels! This would have been nice to know BEFORE I ran three miles and was a hot sweaty mess. I ended up turning my shirt into a sweat mop.

Came home and gobbled down this salad for lunch:

And spent the rest of the afternoon doing random things, including:
  • shopping
  • stalking blogs
  • napping
  • grocery shopping with Daddy-o
  • watching last week's Grey's Anatomy (OMG I can't WAIT to see what happens this week!!)

After my sister got off work at 6, the three of us went to Red Ginger for an outstanding sushi dinner. Red Ginger has, in our opinion, the most expensive best sushi in Traverse City.

We all split a Rainbow Roll:

As well as a Spider Roll, Philadelphia Roll, and a Dynamite Roll:

Dad and I also shared a Saki Sampler :)

The only bad thing about dinner was that it wasn't very filling. Unfortunately, the outrageously delicious food comes at an outrageous price, so we didn't order anything else. However, Red Ginger is conveniently located right across the street from Cold Stone. Problem solved!

I got a like-it size of Sinless Sans Fat Sweet Cream with one Oreo mixed in.

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend as well!

What's your favorite thing to order at Cold Stone?

I loved what I ordered last night, but when I'm not on a diet or counting calories, I'm all over the cake batter ice cream with Oreos (as in, more than one) and double cookie dough ;)

  1. congrats on 100 posts!!!!!

Love the sushi and sake!!! Mike and I used to go get sushi, then go get coldstone after for a period of time, it was a weekly thing for us, lol! Yeah thats not so good!! I think the sake had something to do with it ; ) us eating that much sushi and then getting ice cream right after!

    Have a great day!!

  2. THe sushi was great but the company was better! It was fun having dinner with you two!

  3. I had sushi this weekend too. SO good! When I am eating "at will" at Coldstone I get the oreo cream flavored ice cream with peanut butter cups. It was November the last time I did this but it was so good.

  4. Sushi followed by Cold Stone sounds like a perfect meal! I agree about sushi, it's wonderful but rarely fills me up. I like getting a salad or soup beforehand to help me fill me up a bit. Or booze, booze always helps.

I love their sinless sweet cream or birthday cake batter ice cream with strawberries---yumm!

  5. They have one of the best tasting sake as well.
