Back At It

After my Negative Nancy of a day yesterday, I woke up today ready to lose some weight ;)


I had class from 9-5 and then came home and wolfed down this Clif Bar before I hit the gym:




Bars are definately my pre-workout food of choice. They put something in my belly so I don't collapse from hunger but they don't make me too full or make me nauseous while I'm working out. Toast and peanut butter fares well with me also, but we all know that's not an option right now :(



After I gobbled down that sucker I hit the gym for an hour of Body Pump followed by 30 minutes of spinning. This was the first time that I've ever gone to Body Pump, but I wasn't expecting it to be especially difficult after the kinds of work-outs that I'm used to. Um, I could not have been more wrong.


Body Pump totally kicked my booty in the sense that it was a completely different kind of work-out than I'm used to. Instead of doing typical 3 sets x 8, 12, 15 or however many reps; it was a solid song (3-4ish minutes) of working a single muscle group without a break. We did legs, chest, back, biceps, triceps, shoulders and abs and every single muscle group was burning by the time the exercise was over. Tomorrow is going to be painful.


Now I'm enjoying a very healthy body-builder-diet like dinner, aka the most boring dinner on the planet:




Although I'm pretty sure that body builders don't have big old piles of ketchup and honey mustard on their plates; but it just makes the broccoli so much more bearable.



Off to hit the books and have dessert. What's that, you want to know what I'm having for dessert?!

Maybe if I stare at really hard it will morph into a bowl of ice cream.
