I'm exhaused! I spent the whole day working my butt off, but cool friends always make manual labor more fun ;)
Eric and I left at 7:30 this morning to head up to Big Rapids to participate in a community service event with my Kappa Psi brothers. The event, hosted by Ferris, is called The Big Event.
The Big Event is where a bunch of student organizations get assigned to a house, church or other location in the community and work together to do yard work, clean the place up, and do whatever else is needed. We were assigned to a local church and spent about four hours raking, triming branches, sweeping and painting.
Of course, a couple of not-so-productive things happened as well. Like this:
Oh, and this...
Thanks guys. You are the most awesome friends ever.
The lovely folks at the church made us lunch:
I had this plus about four more slices of cheese. Don't judge.
The work didn't end after we finished at the church. When we were done there, we headed back to the Kappa Psi house for the annual House Clean-Up.
I spent most of the time helping this guy paint the stalls and vanity in the upstairs bathroom.
Pizza is absolutely mandatory after a day like today.
two three slices. Plus two of these:
In case you didn't pick up on it, I definately went over my carb and my calorie budget today, but I'm okay with it because I'm prepping myself for the upcoming week. I'll explain more tomorrow, but let's just say it's going to be a difficult six days and I'm going to be cranky.
I'm gonna go join my friends in a game of volleyball, but I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend!
