Jenny and Marie's

Happy Almost Friday everyone, and thanks for all your tips on getting over weight-loss plateaus! All of your comments pretty much came down to the same thing: Change it up! I'm really hoping that cutting back on carbs a little will help me, but if not I have lots of other things I can try thanks to your tips :)

Last night I hung out with my amazing friend, Jenny. She is one of the nicest people on the face of this earth and I love her to death.




Unfortunately, I don't get to see her that often since she lives over an hour away. Therefore, when we do get the chance to hang out we always make sure to do really fun stuff; like eat good food, duh! (Like, what else would we do?)



I like to make faces like this while I wait for my food.




I figure it will scare off the other customers and we'll get our food faster.



We went to Marie Catrib's, which is quickly becoming my favorite place to eat in Grand Rapids. Even though I was bound and determined to order something different I ended up getting the exact same thing I got last week: the sweet potato and quinoa burger. Jenny did manage to catch me mid-bite though.




And yes, I always smile like that when I'm eating delicious food. It doesn't take much to make me happy.


By the way, I don't have nutritional info for this place, but I saved over 700 calories and 100 g of carbs for that sandwich today. I'm sure I used them all; it sure tasted like I did.



After we finished eating we headed over to Schuler's to get some blogging studying done. They have yummy coffee drinks and treats there and Jenny enjoyed one of these bad boys:

Well I'm off to work for the day and after that I'll be studying ALL night for my exam tomorrow. Unfortunately exams kind of get in the way of my blog-reading so I haven't had time to stalk your blogs the last couple days. I'm looking forward to catching up on all of your lives over the weekend :)

What helps you exercise self-control when you're around people eating sweets or other diet-sabatoging foods?

I normally don't have this kind of willpower (if you've seen my Weight Is Just A Number page then you know that my weight didn't move for almost 4 months) but I'm on a roll right now so I just tell myself not to ruin it and keep trucking!
