Crossing Off To-Dos

It's been quite a productive day so far! My to-do list:

  • write Gotein review and giveaway post <---- be sure to enter the giveaway!!
  • work-out
  • laundry
  • drop bike off at shop (one of the spokes is broken)
  • errands
  • grocery shop
  • clean room
  • write "Eat Like A Guy and Lose Weight" blog post (hehe..coming atcha tomorrow or the next day!)
As evident in my crossed off to-do list, after I ate breakfast and posted my Gotein giveaway, I hit the gym for a crazy hard work-out. Today is Day 1 of my new routine that I am starting, based off of the Superfeature in this month's Muscle and Fitness Hers. The routine incorporates some hardcore lifting (feels good to be doing that again!) with lots of supersets and alternating low rep, high rep, and moderate rep days. I will be lifting three days a week with 20-30 minutes of HIIT on those days and on the non-lifting days I will be doing 45 minutes of steady state cardio. Today was a low-rep lifting day, and here's what I did:

After my lift I completed 20 minutes of HIIT on the treadmill using a 1:3 work/rest ratio. I did 30 seconds at a speed of 8.5 followed by 90 seconds at a speed of 5.0, all at a 1.0 incline. I was drenched by the time I was done! I know I'm going to be sore tomorrow. When I was putting on my mascara earlier, I could hardly lift my hand up to my face! When I got home from the gym I made a killer stir-fry for lunch that I ate so fast I forgot to take a picture of it. Then I ran some errands, one of which was Old Navy where I proceeded to take stupid photos of myself and blind you with my glow-in-the-dark arms.

Then I thought eww, I can't post that gross post-finals-weight-gain-muffin-top photo on my blog! (which is irrelevant because obviously I did anyways) So I took another one:

Much better ;)

Then I went grocery shopping. The goods:

And since all I was craving for dinner was fresh fruit (grocery shopping does that to ya), I brought back an old favorite that I haven't had in far too long: a yogurt bowl!

There's yogurt and granola under there, I swear!

See? :)

I'm off to finish that to-do list!

What's your favorite way to do HIIT?

I always use the treadmill because I can work the hardest on it.
