Mysterious Weather

Do you ever have one of those days where your work-out is just a disaster from beginning to end? Well, that happened to me today.

When I got done at my IPPE, I spent the whole drive home contemplating what I wanted to do for my work-out. It was a cardio day, and I couldn't decide if I wanted to go to the gym and run on the treadmill, go to the gym and alternate cardio machines for 45 minutes, run outside, or ride my bike. However, it was absolutely gorgeous outside and I felt like it would have been a crime to not take advantage of it at least a little bit.

Finally, I made the decision to ride my bike to the gym, run three miles or so on the treadmill, and then ride my bike home. I was itching to get a ride in but I knew that I should probably run, so now I'd be killing two birds with one stone! Win.

I quickly changed into my gym clothes, dragged my bike up from the basement, and hit the pavement. It felt so good to be out riding, but I barely made it a half a mile from my apartment when I noticed that my chain was making some kind of odd grinding noise. I couldn't figure out what was wrong, so I just kept going. Another half mile later it just seemed to be getting worse, plus the sunny weather had suddenly turned into dark clouds, so I ended up turning around.

By the time I got home, I was completely annoyed at the situation and how much time I had wasted. I didn't want to get in my car and drive to the gym because I didn't feel like dealing with traffic and I was already grumpy. Since I was already in my gym clothes and wearing my running shoes, I decided to just suck it up and go for a run outside.

Note to self: running on legs that are crazy sore from an insane body pump class the previous day doesn't work very well. I made it two (very hilly) miles until my legs felt like jello and I started to walk. Then I walked/ran another 3/4 of a mile before making it back to my apartment and calling it quits.

By this time the skies just looked nasty.

I went inside to stretch and then heard it start raining outside. However, when I looked out the window I was completely confused by what I saw.

Yes, that would be a half sunny, half cloudy sky. And yes, it was still raining, on the cloudy side. How does it only rain on part of my apartment complex? Within a period of 40 minutes, it had gone from completely sunny, to dark and cloudy, to rainy, to half cloudy/rainy and half sunny. What? I was so confused. I stood on my front step and tried to figure out the mysterious weather.

Yeah I know. Nerd alert. Whatev.

Fyi, if you actually read through this entire post about the weather and how I am a complete tard, I applaud you and wish I could personally present you with a loyal reader award. You are awesome and may also have as much of a non-existent life as I do.

After I was done thinking about the weather, I came inside and made some stir-fry for dinner. It was gooood.

My stir-fry contained:

  • 3/4 cup brown rice
  • 2 thinly sliced chicken breasts
  • chopped onion and mushroom
  • one clove garlic
  • broccoli
  • 2 eggs

Sorry I don't have exact measurements or a real recipe, but I didn't measure anything (except the rice) and I really just cooked everything in different pans and then threw it all together with the eggs and some soy sauce. It was delicious and made enough for three to four meals. If you're really interested in more specific directions, let me know and I'll try to write something out for ya.

I'm going to go be lazy for the rest of the night :)
