Hi, New Friends!

Hey guys! First of all, I just want to say HI! to any new readers, I really appreciate you stopping by and I hope you’ll stay for a while :) My schedule is going to get pretty hectic over the next few weeks between work, blogging, working out, and all of the other “fun” stuff I have going on but I promise that I am doing my best to respond to emails and comments and check out all of your lovely bloggies. I absolutely love hearing from you guys and just want to say THANK YOU for all of the kind words :)

 

Last night I had the hardest time falling asleep, I hate when that happens! I was in bed promptly at 10:30, with the alarm set for 6:30 am so I could wake up and get in a good cardio session before work. At 12:30 am when I was still wide awake, I knew the gym was out. I have this “thing” about working out on less than 7 hours of sleep; I don’t think that it’s beneficial and it can actually be counterproductive because your body is not fully rested. Maybe you’re one of those lucky ones who functions well on 6 hours of sleep, but that’s not me :)

 

Anyways, I pushed my alarm back to 8:00 which still allowed me plenty of time to make a yummy breakfast: a grilled Elvis!

My breakfast sandwich included two slices of whole grain bread (cooked up like French toast) with half of a grilled banana and 1 Tbsp of Naturally Nutty cinnamon cashew butter in the middle. It was deeeee-lish!

Other recent eats from the past couple days:

Grilled chicken salad (work lunch)

Spinach, grilled chicken (cooked up on the George Foreman), 1/4 avocado, dried cherries, walnuts

 

Mom’s homemade lasagna (made with ground chicken)

More bagelwiches and strawberry salads (work lunch again)

Now I’m sitting here debating back and forth with myself whether or not I want to go to the gym. This is the whole reason I wake up early and go in the mornings; if I don’t get it out of the way first thing, then I come home after a long day at work (or class, or whatever) and just want to plop on the couch all night. Finding the energy and motivation to work out at this time is hard. However, I think after yesterday's glute routine my legs could use some loosening up (and the scale ticked me off this morning) so I’m thinking it’s going to be a cardio night. Blah.

 

And on that note, I’m off to get my sweat on! Have a great night :)
