TC For The Week

Phew, it’s been a long day!

Breakfast this morning was cool, filling and full of protein:


Even though it doesn’t look very chocolaty, I made a chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie. To make it I threw the following in the blender:

  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • A few ice cubes
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 2 Tbsp PB2
  • 1 handful fresh organic spinach

It was delicious, but next time I think I’ll add a tablespoon of cocoa and only use half a banana.


I hit the gym for a much needed run after I finished my breakfast. I cranked out 4.0 miles on the treadmill in 41:37 and it about killed me. It has been way too long since I’ve ran, and I could tell because I started feeling sick at around mile 3 and my stomach has been bothering me all day. I have found that’s what happens when I run long distances and I’m not used to it. Eventually if I keep running on a regular basis I become tolerant to it, but like I said, it’s been a while since I’ve pounded out more than two miles at one time. Does anyone else have stomach issues when they run?


After I got back from the gym (and my stomach settled a little) I made myself some lunch: my favorite egg bagelwich (egg whites, muenster cheese and raspberry preserves on an Everything bagel thin) and extra egg whites with ketchup on the side.


Plus an apple.



When I finished lunch I got to work packing for Traverse City. Remember last week when I mentioned that I would be a lazy bum not working for these next few weeks? Well, as much as I love sitting around and not doing anything all day, I realized how much I actually need the money. I was able to snag myself some hours up at my store in Traverse City this week (I work at a chain and am able to work at different stores). I am going to be working 9:00am-7:00pm for the next four days in a row (Mon-Thurs) so I can earn myself some much needed dinero. Also, as you can probably imagine, I know that I’m going to be totally exhausted every day after work (ten hours is a long shift!) so I apologize in advance for any slacking off with the blog or lackluster posts that you may see this week :)


I ended up scrounging together all of this stuff to take up north with me:


It’s not too much, but it’ll be that much less for me to worry about when I’m packing for the final move back to Traverse City in a couple weeks.


When I arrived home after my 2.5 hour drive, my mom had my favorite homemade pizza in the oven. When it was done cooking I enjoyed a slice of it with a spinach salad:












Why does food taste so much better when someone else cooks it?
