Last night was a rough night, but I’ll get to that in a second. First, yesterday’s workout:
- Warm-up: 15 min elliptical
- This leg-tastic routine that I made up as I went along:
(I did some of my favorite leg exercises, as well as some of the machines that I haven’t used in ages, like the hip adductor. I love that thing!)
- Finished up with 25 min on the Arc Trainer, which is quickly becoming my new favorite way to do cardio.
After the gym I got ready to meet a couple of my coworkers for dinner and drinks at La Senorita. I filled up on $1 pomegranate margaritas:
Plus about a thousand chips and salsa:
And even though I was completely full from chips and margaritas, I still ordered the small portion of the seafood quesadillas for my “meal.”
Of course, I ate all of it.
I walked out of the restaurant so full that I thought the zipper on my dress was going to bust open. This is never a good thing.
I paid for my decision to completely gorge myself at dinner at around 3:30 am this morning. If you follow me on Twitter, you may already be aware of this.
I woke up in a cold sweat and the most intense stomach cramping that I’ve had in a long time. I ran to the bathroom and was in there for nearly 45 minutes with, ahem, the runs, until my stomach was completely empty and I had rid it of that blasted “seafood.”
For a moment, I considered that it could just be the fact that I had way too many chips that were washed down
one two three margaritas that was causing me to be so sick. However, anyone who reads my blog regularly knows that I am a little obsessed with Mexican food, and large amounts of chips, salsa and margaritas make an appearance in my diet quite frequently. Therefore, I’m blaming it on the quesadillas.
Actually, if I’m being honest with myself, I really think it’s a sign from my body telling me to lay off the
garbage junk food for a while. I had friends in town last weekend and I probably indulged a little too much, plus my diet just hasn’t been quite up to par the last couple weeks. Well, getting sick like I did last night is plenty of motivation for me to eat clean for the next few days, that’s for sure!
Oddly enough, I woke up feeling refreshed and completely fine this morning, and started my day off with a bowl of oatmeal.
My bowl contained:
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup skim milk
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/8 cup dried cherries
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 Tbsp almond butter
- sprinkle of slivered almonds
- drizzle of maple syrup
Now THAT’S a good bowl of oatmeal
I’m off to hit the gym before work. Have a good one!
