Last night I had a really fun night out with my family. We started off with dinner at Red Mesa Grill where I ordered *surprise surprise* a mango margarita.
Unlike the last one I ordered when I was in Mt. Pleasant, this one was actually good! Very good, in fact.
To carry on the mango theme, I went with the mango cashew chicken salad for my meal, plus the obligatory 1000 chips with salsa.
I’d go back to this restaurant just for this salad, it was fabulous!
After we finished eating, my mom, dad, sister and I headed out to the Interlochen Center for the Arts where the Beach Boys were playing at Kresge Auditorium.
I think this is the first concert I have ever been to with my parents!
(Sorry for the blurry iPhone pics, courtesy of my dad. My camera battery died!)
We had pretty decent seats, about 15 rows back. Now, don’t get me wrong, while I did have a good time, this was definately a different kind of concert than the ones I’m used to going to (you can see other concert posts here, here and here). I’m used to everyone jumping around, screaming and moshing, and VERY loud ear-ringing music. At this concert, the audience actually just chilled in their seats for a lot of it (uhm, weird!) and there were quite a few parts that were a little, well, boring.
However, the real fun came during the last 20 minutes of the show when people started heading toward the front of the auditorium. Courtney, my dad and I thought this sounded like a great idea and went straight to the front as well. My sister and I squeezed through all the
old folks people and got right in front of the stage!
At one point during “Help Me Rhonda” I actually got to sing into the mic!
My dad and sister also took a ton of video clips with us singing and dancing, so maybe if I feel like it later I’ll post one or two for ya
Well, I just ate a bowl of Cinnamon Raisin Granola and now the gym’s calling my name! Then it’s work work work. Blah.
Have a good day
