Gooood morning! Hope everyone is having a great week so far. I have the day off today, whoo! I’ve got some fun things planned, including a bike ride with a friend this morning as well as dinner and a concert tonight with the fam First off, breakfast!
It’s been a while since I’ve had an egg bagelwich, so I thought it was time to bring it back!
Egg whites, muenster cheese and raspberry jam on an Everything Bagel Thin. Yummm!
Everyday Health Giveaway
Last month, Reilly from Everyday Health contacted me about reviewing a Calorie Counter book. I’ve been a horrible blogger in the sense that I am just NOW getting around to posting my review, but better late than never, right?
So, about this book. Well, to put it simply, it pretty much rocks. As it states on the cover, it lists “complete nutritional information on more than 8,000 popular brands, fast-food chains, and restaurant menus.” The book is divided into an into two sections: an introduction and then the calorie charts. The calorie charts are further divided into common foods, store brands, and restaurants. I could not believe how many foods were listed in this little book, it is very complete and thorough!
Note to self: Don’t eat at Carrabba’s.
While all of the calorie information is fantastic, my favorite part of the book is actually the introduction. It is about 30 pages and includes lots of information about the the risks of obesity, how to get started with weight loss, healthy weight goals, portion control, and most importantly (the big question that I ALWAYS get asked!) how many calories you need. Remember how I said that calorie budgets are different for everyone? Well, this book actually gives you a mathematical formula for you to calculate what your personal budget should be for weight loss. It also includes healthy weight charts and helps you determine a good goal weight. So cool.
Another great thing about this book? The size of it! Even though it has all of this great information inside, it’s no bigger than my hand! Perfect for stashing in your purse so you can look up calories on the go. This would be so handy when going out to eat!
Ok, so here’s the part that you’ve been waiting for. Reilly has offered to ship a copy of the Everyday Health My Calorie Counter book to not one, but THREE winners!
