I’m so glad that I won’t be the only one embarking on this No Sweets Challenge . After all, misery loves company, right?
Today has been an easy and enjoyable day so far. I woke up for the first time in weeks without an alarm (which was glorious) and then made some breakfast:
(Bagel thin with egg whites, muenster cheese and strawberry jam)
Then I goofed around on the internet for a little while before heading out to the gym. Today’s workout was a cardio party, and left me feeling sufficiently sweaty by the time I was done.
- 2.0 mile run (20:40)
- 10 min incline walking
- 15 min elliptical
The running’s getting better and better!
Lunch + Haircut
When I arrived back home from the gym, I took a quick shower and then whipped up an easy and refreshing lunch.
That’s right, smoothie time! Into the blender went:
- frozen mixed berries
- frozen cherries
- strawberry Chobani yogurt
- 1 scoop strawberry protein powder
- 1 handful fresh spinach
- splash of milk to thin it out
Have I mentioned that this smoothie has over 40 grams of slimming, muscle-building protein?! Heck yes.
I actually took my smoothie to go and enjoyed it on the way to a hair appointment.
While I really like my hair longer and would like to continue to grow it out, I desperately needed a trim. I went somewhere new, which always makes me a little nervous, but I was quite pleased with the way it turned out.
So much better, and so much thicker! She used a volumizing shampoo as well as a volumizing gel. I’ve got to invest in some of that…
After my haircut I stopped at Borders to browse around and purchase a couple of books, since everything is a million percent off on account of the fact the store is going out of business (so sad ). I’ve decided I want to start reading again, but wanted something not at all related to health, fitness or weight loss. Too much of my life revolves around that, and sometimes I just need a break! Here’s what I ended up picking up:
I’ll probably start with Pictures of You, it sounds really good!
Anyone read either of these books? What did you think?
