Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

Well look who showed up last night?

Eric!!

He made the drive up from Grand Rapids late yesterday afternoon and arrived shortly after 7:00. Should be a fun weekend Open-mouthed smile.

Before he arrived, I enjoyed dinner out on the back deck with my parents. We would would have waited for Eric to eat, but I had no idea what time he was planning on getting here since his phone decided to freak out on him the other day and I had no way of contacting him.

Dinner was a chicken burger with muenster cheese, lettuce, mashed avocado, ketchup and mustard; plus corn on the cob:

Seriously, if you have never bought ground chicken and made chicken burgers, you are missing out.

Yummay!

After dinner we all sat around and chatted for a good hour before making make a trip to the one and only…

Dairy Lodge!!

Yep, that’s right. After over two solid weeks of not eating sweets, I decided that it’s the holiday weekend and I’m rewarding myself for doing so well. Hence, exhibit A:

Quite possibly the most delicious sundae I’ve ever had Open-mouthed smile. Absence really does make the heart grow fonder Winking smile.

Now, don’t get me wrong; I’m not planning on going overboard this weekend. I had the sundae last night (which Eric actually shared) and tomorrow I plan on indulging one more time before getting back on track with the No Sweets Challenge on Monday. I’ve never been good at moderation, but I’m trying to learn!

The rest of our night was pretty low key (as in, we may have sort of went to bed at 9:30…). Kinda lame, I know, but I was totally drained after all of my presentations I had to do yesterday and sleep was very much needed Smile.

Well, I’ve got lots of fun stuff to do today and rumor on the street is that Dad is making some breakfast burritos here shortly Winking smile. Have a good one!
