(I asked Eric what I should title this post, and that was his response. I laughed and said, “but Melissa wasn’t here yesterday!” He gave me the stink eye .)
Morning! I love that it’s Sunday but we still get another day off tomorrow. It makes me quite happy .
After breakfast yesterday, Eric and I went out and ran some errands. Our stops included Borders
(so sad they’re going out of business, but we scored some major deals)
the mall, where we also grabbed lunch
(6-inch on honey oat with ham, turkey, provolone, spinach, cucumber, black olives and honey mustard)
and lastly, the movie theatre. We saw Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark and Eric got his popcorn.
By the way, we weren’t really fans of the movie. We were hoping it would be uber scary, but it just..wasn’t.
After the movie we came back to my house and met up with my folks before we all drove out to Leelanau to do a little wine tasting. My dad was the DD, so Eric, my mom and I handled the sampling .
The last winery that we went to, Leelanau Cellars, is attached to an awesome restaurant that my parents love called Knot Just A Bar, so it worked out perfectly to stop there for dinner. First, some drinks to get us started:
(Every time I look at this picture I laugh at my creeper Dad. Don’t be freaked out by him, ha ha)
Appetizers:
(Best spinach and artichoke dip ever. Seriously.)
And for my main meal, the Jack Daniels BBQ Pork Sandwich:
I wasn’t kidding when I said that BBQ pork has become one of my favorite foods!
I also shared some fries with Eric, but we were both so full from our meals that we ended up taking most of them home.
We spent the rest of the evening chatting on the back patio while listening to the rolling thunder until it started to rain, and then Eric and I watched Nightmare On Elm Street. The day was pretty much the definition of awesome .
Oh, and before I leave, I want to wish my sister a happy happy birthday!
She turned 19 today so we’ll be doing some celebrating .
See ya later!
