TGIF!! I’m so excited that it’s finally Friday. After I get done at my rotation today I’ll be hitting the road for home, and I can’t wait! Even though I’ll be working all weekend, it’ll still be nice to relax for a couple nights with my family. Haven’t been able to do that since September!
Yesterday after I last stopped by, I munched on some leftover fajitas for lunch:
Call me crazy, but I think these tasted even better leftover. Maybe it’ll be more incentive to watch my portions when I order fajitas – if I only eat half of them then I get to enjoy them twice .
Then I headed back to the vet for the rest of the afternoon. I made a new friend too, and I wanted to introduce you to her:
She’s a bearded dragon! Isn’t she cool?! Another lizard bit a huge chunk out of her tail, the poor thing .
The vet asked me to look up and dose an antibiotic, antiparasitic, and a pain medication for her, which I was happy to do!
After getting all bandaged up and receiving a few injections (eek, it made me cringe watching the vet give an IM shot in a little lizard leg!), she was good to go and on her way out the door.
I hope I get to see more exotic creatures while I’m up here, they are so interesting!
Dinner when I got home was nice and simple: an Amy’s pocket and a black cherry Greek yogurt.
Don’t worry, I got my veggies. They were just hiding .
Work-Out + Breakfast
This morning’s workout began with the following back/biceps routine:
- Pulldowns 3 sets x 15 reps
- Wide-grip pull-ups (using assist machine) 3 sets x 10 reps superset with narrow-grip (? the kind where your palms are facing each other) pull-ups 3 sets x 10 reps
- Dumbbell pullovers 3 sets x 15 reps superset with one-armed rows 3 sets x 12 reps
- Incline alternating bicep curls 3 sets x 12 reps
- Incline prone bicep curls 3 sets x 12 reps
And it ended it with 20 minutes on the elliptical. Not too shabby.
Breakfast was a slice of Ezekiel sesame seed toast with sunflower butter and banana:
(Another tiny end piece with a smear of sunflower butter was consumed as well)
Time for lunch and then it’s back to the vet for the afternoon!
Do you or someone you know have any exotic pets? Do they creep you out at all?
This lizard didn’t at first, but then while I was holding her and the vet was examining her she started to squirm and that really freaked me out! I thought she was going to pee on me or something, haha.
