I passed my clinical seminar presentation!!
Not only did I pass, but the presentation went better than I ever could have imagined. It feels so good to have this under my belt after nearly four months of hard work. Even though I still have four months of rotations to go until graduation, it’s all downhill from here baby! Needless to say, my friends and I were pretty excited.
As you can imagine, celebrating was in order .
Since we were absolutely starving (nerves kind of killed my appetite all day) the first order of business was to get some food in our bellies. I was so hungry that I couldn’t wait until we got to the restaurant to eat something, so I wolfed down a Clif Bar on the way.
We ended up at a small hole-in-the-wall bar and pub called Elbow Room for dinner and drinks.
White Russian for me:
And a garden burger with a side salad (instead of fries) for my meal:
Honestly, I wasn’t that crazy about the food. It was kind of a grease joint and just about every option was either a burger or something fried. Salads are usually not that stellar at places like that -- note the iceberg lettuce and mountain of cheese -- so when I found out that they were out of pulled pork (the horror!) a garden burger was the only other thing that sounded good. Regardless, it was nice to sit and relax with a couple friends and celebrate the end of a stressful
After we finished eating, I got an invite from some other friends to join them at El Burrito, and you know I can’t say no to a good margarita!
They are in the pharmacy class below me and are just now picking their seminar topics, so I spent a good portion of the night talking about my presentation, what to expect, how long it took me to put everything together, etc. I think I successfully freaked them out .
I called it a night after that and was up early to hit up a Turbo Kick class at the gym this morning. I cannot tell you how good it felt to get my body moving after taking the past few days off from the gym (you can guess why). The ab routine at the end of this particular release is killer and I’m going to be feeling it tomorrow for sure.
Apple cinnamon oatmeal never gets old.
Alright, Thursday’s episode of Grey's Anatomy is calling my name so I’m off. I’ll be working on a 2012 Goals post this weekend (I know it’s a little late, but I’ve been busy living and breathing seminar), so hopefully I’ll have that up soon.
Have a great Saturday!
