Yesterday I went shopping for my first bridesmaid dress! My best friend, Melissa, is getting married in August and I’m so excited to be the maid of honor in her wedding.
I went shopping with both Melissa and her mom, and our first stop was David's Bridal. I tried on lots and LOTS of dresses.
Melissa is the most amazing bride ever and she let me pick whatever I dress I wanted (the other bridesmaids will all wear the one that I choose), as long as it was available in one of her colors.
In the end, I decided on this one:
I love it because it’s so “flowy” and I don’t think it looks like your typical bridesmaid dress. The dress will be a canary yellow color, since her colors are orange and yellow. I think it will be perfect for a summer wedding!
After we were done shopping for me, we headed over to Memories for a wedding dress appointment for Melissa. Her and her mom went shopping there yesterday for a dress (I was at my rotation so I couldn’t come) and she found one that she absolutely loved, but she needed my final seal of approval before the big purchase .
She tried on three different dresses for me
and while she looked gorgeous in every single one, she looked stunning in the one that she chose (obviously, it is not the one pictured above). I absolutely approved of the dress, and I can’t wait until her wedding day. She is the most beautiful bride!
After we were done shopping, we went back to Melissa’s house and her mom cooked up a delicious dinner of roast beef, vegetables, and salad.
Then Melissa and I made cookies for dessert .
Chocolate covered peanut butter cookies, to be exact .
Man these cookies were good! We enjoyed them hot out of the oven with some vanilla ice cream.
I only had a couple of cookies because as usual, I filled up on cookie dough while we were making them. Even though I was feeling good about my eating on Friday, yesterday I way overdid it. I was fine up until after lunch, and then I pretty much went crazy. Candy, cookie dough, cookies, and way too many spoonfuls of this stuff:
It was an impulse buy at the store. Do yourself a favor and DON’T buy it. I don’t want anyone blaming me when they accidently eat half of the jar in one sitting like I did.
We spent the rest of the evening playing with the dogs, drinking wine, and watching Sex and the City. It was a pretty awesome night, if ya ask me .
I stayed the night at her house, and this morning I woke up to an amazing breakfast; once again thanks to her mom.
Veggie omelets and breakfast potatoes were on the menu, and this was seriously one of the best omelets I’ve ever had. It was loaded with bell peppers, mushrooms, onion, spinach, turkey bacon, feta and mozzarella.
Molly wanted some too!
After breakfast I packed up and drove back to Grand Rapids, where I proceeded to do three loads of laundry, snack on cereal and waffle sandwiches all day, and watch four hours of Criminal Minds. Yeah, it’s been one of those days.
I had such a great time yesterday. Like I said, I’m not thrilled with my eating behavior, but it’s not the end of the world and I’m not going to let it bug me.
