I don’t have much to report today since yesterday was utterly uneventful. I went to an early morning spin class so I was able to get my workout done early in the day, which was wonderful. Coming home after rotation and being able to just relax the rest of the night totally makes the 5:00 am wake-up call worth it. I’m going to try to start waking up at that time most days of the week so I can get my workout out done before rotation, which is the way I like it. Today I completed another NROLFW workout (update on that coming tomorrow), and that 30 minutes of weights really kicked my butt!
Side note: There was a ridiculous amount of chit chat going on in my spin class yesterday morning and it was SO annoying. It’s difficult for me to focus on my workout and concentrate on the music when there is so much background talking going on. I actually said something to the instructor afterwards so I hope she makes an announcement or something before next week’s class. Please tell me I’m not the only one who feels this way!
Post workout breakfast was eggs, and English muffin, and Greek yogurt with a baked apple.
This has been a pretty typical breakfast for me lately, although a lot of times I’ll just have three eggs instead of the English muffin. All the protein keeps me full for hours!
(^Dippy egg fail)
I spent the afternoon working with one of the medical residents at the internal medicine clinic, which was pretty interesting. I got to shadow her and see all of her patients with her, plus answer any medication questions that she or her patients had for me. I try to help out and reduce their workload as much as I can (since they have to put up with an annoying student following them around all day) by going over medication lists with patients and making sure we have everything correct and everyone is on the same page. I’ll be working with the internal medicine residents two or three days afternoons a week during my rotation, and I’m looking forward to it!
I was feeling completely uninspired when it came to dinner, so another Amy's meal it was. I think part of the reason was because I have plans to eat out for the next two nights (I didn’t want to be stuck with leftovers) and the other part was just sheer laziness.
Just a Pesto Tortellini bowl and a spinach salad with the usual toppings.
Lots of green for March .
So to make up for my not-so-exciting post today, I have a giveaway for you all!
If any of you watch the Biggest Loser, then you probably saw the clip on Tuesday’s episode where Dolvett suggest Peanut Butter Cookie and Cherry Pie Larabars as great go-to snacks before the contestants embarked on a hike (you may watch the clip here). I always get excited when TBL endorses products that I already love, so I was pretty happy to see Larabars make an appearance this week! Well, the folks over at Larabar were pretty stoked as well and they offered to send TWO Peanut Butter Cookie and TWO Cherry Pie Larabars to one lucky reader to celebrate their news.
All you have to do to enter the giveaway is leave a comment telling me your favorite Larabar flavor (if you have never tried a Larabar before you may visit their website here and check out their flavors – just tell me what flavor you want to try the most). For additional entries, you may do one or both of the following:
- Post a link to the giveaway on your blog or Facebook
Be sure to leave me a separate comment for each entry and be sure to leave the comments on this blog post. Comments left on the Facebook page will not count toward the giveaway because it’s difficult to include them when I pick a winner.
I will randomly select a winner on Sunday night. GOOD LUCK!!
