Exploring With My New Camera

I’m super stoked because in less than 24 hours I’ll be on my way downstate to meet up with Eric and head down to Cedar Point for the weekend! This morning, I’ve got to squeeze in a workout and get all of my things packed because I’ve got a late shift tonight at work and I want to be up nice and early tomorrow to hit the road. I originally wanted to drive down late tonight after work, but I’m usually pretty exhausted and I doubt I will be up for a three hour drive at 9:30 pm. It was great having yesterday off, but I wish I could have had today off instead! Ah well, such is life.

Speaking of my day off, I finally got a chance to get out and play around with my camera a little more. Unfortunately, it was very cold and cloudy out and I didn’t get to explore too much before the rain forced me back inside.

There are some local trails that I wanted to check out, but I quickly realized that I didn’t have the right shoes (and could feel the rain coming) so I had to nix that idea. I still snapped a few pictures before turning around though.

I love taking close-up shots.

I think the fall colors are so pretty!

There’s still so much I want to learn about photography. I would love to take a class sometime, but I don’t really have the time or money for that right now. I just want to be able to take the best pictures that I can and really take advantage of all of the features that my camera has to offer. All in do time, I suppose!

Besides meander around with my camera yesterday, I also hit up the gym for a sweaty cardio session (C25K Day 2 + 20 minutes on the step mill) and ran a couple errands on the way home, which included a trip to Petsmart to pick up some cat food and a new toy for Mikey

(my apartment is starting to look like a kitty playground)

as well a stop at Michael’s to pick up my custom framing order I placed a couple of weeks ago.

My diploma!

They did such a nice job – you can’t even tell that there’s glass over it! I love it, I can’t wait to hang it up in my living room.

Dinner was courtesy of Oryana.

I ordered a grilled veggie panini with roasted red pepper cream cheese and it was fantastic.

It was loaded with sweet potato, tomato, orange bell pepper, and avocado and was served on delicious 7-grain bread. So good.

I may have to recreate this one at home!

Time to tackle my to-do list before heading into work. Happy Thursday!
