Happy Valentine’s Day, friends!
I’m always grumpy and bitter on this day of love (as evidenced here), but not this year!
I love that little guy, and I’m lucky to have him in my life.
Oh, and this one isn’t bad either .
Haha. Love ya babe!
So yesterday I had the day off, and it was absolutely glorious. I slept in, played with Mikey, and then made a tasty breakfast.
Eggs with goat cheese (my favorite), a piece of toast, and some raspberries. Those berries were delicious. So sweet and juicy!
The toast was this multi-grain bread that I got from Oryana earlier this week.
It’s my favorite bread but I haven’t had it in forever because I haven’t made it over to Oryana and it’s the only place they sell it. I finally picked up a loaf this week when I was grocery shopping and decided to use it for sandwiches in my lunch!
My packed lunch stand-by lately has been veggie pizzas but I’m getting a little tired of those, so I decided to switch back to a classic lunch this week – a sandwich with fruit and veggies. I loaded two toasted slices of bread with roasted turkey, pepper jack cheese, spinach, and mashed avocado.
To go along with the sandwich, I packed up some grapes
and carrots with dip. I was planning on getting hummus until I saw this cream cheese & salsa dip. It has the same number of calories as hummus and I like the spicy kick it has, but I don’t think I’ll buy it again. Definitely not my favorite!
All packed up and ready to go!
After eating sandwiches all week at work, you’d think I would have wanted something different yesterday on my day off. Well, I ended up meeting up with my friend Curtis at the Silver Swan and guess what I ordered? Yep, a sandwich .
Guess I’ve just been in a sandwich mood this week! I ordered the Norwegian, which was a hot sandwich with lettuce, cucumber, carrots, and a special sauce. It was delicious! I love the Silver Swan – it’s been far too long since I’ve been there. They have such pretty decorations and stained glass on the windows. Gorgeous!
Anyway, the rest of my day yesterday was pretty low key. I spent the morning working on my taxes…
and I was planning on hitting up the gym in the afternoon, but then I sort of accidently took a two hour nap. It. was. awesome. By the time I woke up from my nap it was time to get ready for a drug rep dinner that I had to go to and when I got home it was time for bed! I haven’t got my long run in yet this week so I’m really hoping to squeeze it in this morning, but I’m going downstate tomorrow after work and I have lot to do between now and then. Since I close tonight and open tomorrow, this morning is really the only time I have to get everything done so we’ll see what happens!
Before I sign off, I wanted to give a shout-out to my new friend, Katie. She recently started her own weight loss journey and started a Facebook page about her progress. It’s called Katie's Fitness Journey and she’d really love it if you would check it out and like her page! Every day she posts her workouts and accountability photos.
A friend told me about her because we go to the same gym, and we are actually trying to organize a workout date as soon as my schedule slows down a little. She’d really love it if you would check out her Facebook page!
